  • Discover Mount Kenya National Park, home to Africa's second highest peak, affording some of the most impressive views in east Africa.

DAY 2 – FRIDAY 23 MARCH 2018
Arrive In Cairo

‘Ahlan Wa Sahlan’ to mesmerising Egypt and its capital, Cairo. Egypt's history covers more than 5,000 years and encompasses the origin of civilisation, the rise of the Greeks and Romans, the establishment of the Jewish, Christian and Islamic religions, the colonial era, and finally, a return to independence. This evening we’ll enjoy a group welcome dinner.

This morning we visit the last remaining wonder of the ancient world and the oldest structures in existence, the Great Pyramids of Giza! We’ll also see the nearby Sphinx, the Step Pyramid of Sakkara and the ancient capital of Memphis, where in ancient times pharaohs endured amazing tests of strength and stamina to prove they still has the power to rule.

DAY 4 – SUNDAY 25 MARCH 2018

Today we explore the lively heart of Cairo. Our first stop is the Egyptian Museum, home to the priceless treasures of Tutankhamen and many other historic artefacts. We’ll also visit the Citadel, the Mohammed Ali Mosque and explore the 14th century Khan El Khalili Bazaar, famous for both its typical and unusual souvenirs, as well as handmade crafts.

DAY 5 – MONDAY 26 MARCH 2018
Cairo - Luxor - Nile Cruise

We fly to Luxor on the banks of the Nile and visit the beautiful temples of Karnak and Luxor, linked by the impressive 3km-long Avenue of Sphinxes.

Embark Cruise: This afternoon we’ll board our luxury Nile cruise ship. Cruising the Nile is the best way to experience Upper Egypt – along the way we’ll witness local Egyptians going about their everyday lives.

Nile Cruise

This morning we discover the Nile’s West Bank and explore the area known as the Necropolis of Thebes, visiting the Valley of the Kings and the imposing Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, as well as the Colossi of Memnon dedicated to the Pharaoh Amenhotep III.

Nile Cruise

Cruising down the Nile, we stop at Edfu’s magnificent Temple of Horus, dedicated to the Falcon God. One of the best preserved temples in Egypt, it provides an excellent idea of how all the temples once looked. We’ll then visit Aswan’s impressive Kom Ombo double temple complex.

Nile Cruise

This afternoon we’ll relax on an afternoon cruise along the Nile on board a traditional felucca sailboat.

DAY 9 – FRIDAY 30 MARCH 2018
Nile Cruise - Aswan - Cairo

Disembark Cruise: After breakfast we disembark the cruise and explore Aswan.

We’ll visit the Temple of Isis on Philae Island, once a pilgrimage place for worshippers of the goddess of Isis. We’ll also see the engineering miracle of 1960 that is the High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk. This afternoon we’ll fly back to Cairo.

Cairo - Zanzibar

The day is at leisure to rest and relax or explore more of Cairo. This evening we enjoy a group dinner to farewell Egypt before our overnight flight to Zanzibar, via Doha.

DAY 11 – SUNDAY 1 APRIL 2018

‘Karibu’ to the tropical spice island of Zanzibar, famous for its white sandy beaches and the warm turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean!

DAY 12 – MONDAY 2 APRIL 2018

This morning we explore historic Stone Town. Highlights of our tour here include the House of Wonders, Sultan’s Palace, the Old Museum - and the market, where you can shop for various local fruits and some of the spices the island is famous for.

DAY 16 –  FRIDAY 6 APRIL 2018

Today we’ll visit The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, run by Dr Dame Daphne Sheldrick, which rescues and rehabilitates orphaned elephants and rhinos from ivory and horn poachers. We’ll then enjoy a visit to the Giraffe Centre and get up close and personal with these majestic creatures from the raised platforms. Later we’ll enjoy lunch at the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden, followed by a visit to the adjoining Museum.

Nairobi - Mt Kenya National Park

Escaping the city, we travel to Mount Kenya National Park, home to Africa’s second-highest peak, Mount Kenya. We’ll enjoy lunch on arrival and then explore the forest on foot with a local ranger this afternoon.

DAY 18 – SUNDAY 8 APRIL 2018
Mt Kenya National Park - Samburu National Reserve

Today we travel north through rich farming areas and cross the equator before arriving in Samburu National Reserve, famous for its spectacular game viewing. After lunch we’ll head out on our first game drive in search of some of the wildlife unique to the area – the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra and the Somali ostrich.

DAY 19 – MONDAY 9 APRIL 2018
Samburu National Reserve

Keep an eye out for Samburu’s diverse range of wildlife including lion, buffalo and cheetahs, as well as the famous ‘red elephants of Samburu’ on morning and afternoon game drives today.

Special Experience: Visit a Samburu village and school to learn about ‘a day in the life’ of a Samburu woman and her children.

DAY 20 – TUESDAY 10 APRIL 2018
Samburu National Reserve - Lake Nakuru National Park

We travel through part of the famous Great Rift Valley this morning. There’s a chance for us to spot the endangered black rhino in beautiful Lake Nakuru National Park today. We’ll also participate in a tree-planting ceremony at our lodge before an afternoon game drive.

Lake Nakuru National Park - Lake Naivasha

Today we travel to magnificent Lake Naivasha and famous ‘Elsamere’, the home of the late Joy Adamson, author of “Born Free”. Its rich heritage and idyllic scenery make it the perfect place to enjoy afternoon tea and visit the house which contains memorabilia from the “Born Free” film.

Lake Naivasha - Maasai Mara

We travel to the famous Maasai Mara, one of the world’s finest game reserves characterised by its wide open plains and rolling savannahs, dotted with the occasional tree. This afternoon we’ll enjoy a game drive, spotting elephants, giraffes, zebras, gazelles and lions!

DAY 23 – FRIDAY 13 APRIL 2018
Maasai Mara

Our day in the Maasai Mara is devoted to discovering more of the incredible wildlife on morning and afternoon game drives.

Special Experience: This evening we’ll enjoy an unforgettable bush dinner under a beautiful blanket of stars.
