Meals: None included

DAY 2

CAPE TOWN CITY TOUR

This morning after breakfast, at around 10:00am, you will be collected for a city orientation tour. You will have an opportunity to explore Table Mountain – weather depending (cable car tickets at your own expense).

After this a lavish affair awaits you. No visit to Cape Town is complete without enjoying a High Tea at The Mount Nelson Hotel. Enjoy delicate finger sandwiches, pastries and cakes. This evening is at your leisure.

Meals: Breakfast, High Tea

DAY 3

ROBBEN ISLAND EXCURSIONS

This morning after breakfast, you will embark on an excursion to Robben Island, the unique symbol

of “the triumph of the human spirit over adversity, suffering and injustice”. Robben Island is visited every year by thousands of people eager to understand and honour the important aspects of South Africa’s history that it represents.

After our Robben Island tour, we will head off to the Constantia Winelands where we stop at Groot Constantia. Groot Constantia is the oldest wine estate in South Africa and a provincial heritage site in the suburb of Constantia in Cape Town, South Africa. "Groot" in Dutch and Afrikaans translates as "great" in English. Here we will do a cellar tour, wine & chocolate tasting.

Dinner tonight is a chic African experience. Dining begins with the drumbeat of the djembe drum. An interactive drum circle offers you the opportunity to join in and learn how to play the djembe. In no time at all you will be drumming with the rest of Africa! After drumming for a while, you will be lead into ancient courtyards where your hands are ceremoniously washed before eating. The cuisine is authentically Cape Malay and African and is served by beautifully clad waitrons in African style baskets. As you dine you will be entertained by the live performances near your table. Guests are welcomed to Gold by the Mali Puppets who sing and dance in time to the drum beats.

Meals: Breakfast, Highlight Dinner

DAY 4

CAPE PENINSULA TOUR

Today we explore the Cape Peninsula. Travelling along the Atlantic Seaboard via Sea Point, Clifton and Camps Bay, we stop at Maiden Cove look-out point before continuing to Hout Bay. We carry on over Chapman’s Peak, one of the world’s most breath-taking coastal drives, to Cape Point and the Good Hope Nature Reserve. After lunch at a nearby restaurant (for your own account), we travel on to Simon’s Town, a village with charming Victorian architecture, a naval base and a large penguin colony at the beautiful Boulders Beach.

In the afternoon, we enjoy sundowners, before heading back to the hotel for some time to freshen up for dinner, which will be at a boutique restaurant on the hustling Kloof Street.

Meals: Breakfast, Highlight Dinner

DAY 5

CAPE VINEYARDS

Today visit South Africa's premier wine regions; Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.  Enjoy wine experiences combined with charming local culture and the beautiful landscape.

We depart Cape Town for Stellenbosch (an easy drive); a town filled with history and known for its beautiful oak-lined streets and well-preserved Cape Dutch architecture. A walk down Dorp Street, the heart and soul of Stellenbosch’s cultural and historical identity. Enjoy a guided tour of the cellars, exploring the wine production process from grape to bottle. Discover the secrets behind the winemaking craft as you stroll through the cellars and have a paired wine tasting.

Next, venture to the picturesque town of Franschhoek, often referred to as the "French Corner" of South Africa. The day unfolds with a leisurely walk through the town's charming streets.  The highlight of your Franschhoek experience is a visit to another exceptional winery. This stop features a wine tasting paired with an exquisite selection of gourmet dishes designed to complement the wines perfectly. You’ll have the chance to explore the vineyard, learn about the unique terroir, and appreciate the process involved in crafting these exceptional wines.

By the end of the day settle into your accommodation in the wine lands.

TIPPING
Tipping may not be your custom, or the custom of your home country, however it is significant in many parts of the world for roles in tourism. It’s customary to tip tour service personnel including your group tour leader, driver, local guides, restaurant staff, and hotel porters. It’s also appreciated to leave small tips for room attendants and restaurant wait staff.  We appreciate that for many travellers tipping is awkward, and they are unsure about how and what amount to tip.

Tipping for some tour services are included in your tour package however it does not cover your tour leader.

Your Tour Leader
As tipping is customary, please recognise your tour leader’s good service, and the custom of tipping tour leaders, and tip them at the completion of your tour. Your tour leader is away from home for the duration of your visit and tipping is a part of recognising this dedication.
