DAY 1

Arrive To The Whitsundays. Transfer To Daydream Island

On arrival to Hamilton Island, collect your luggage and pick up your boat transfer voucher to Daydream Island*. The transfer desk is at the luggage arrival point, and the boat transfer pier is at the airport. It’s a short transfer between Hamilton and Daydream Island by fast ferry (between 30-40 minutes).  The day is at your leisure. In the evening meet for pre dinner drinks then onto our group welcome dinner.

** return boat transfer included with your package.  You can also opt to transfer from the port of Airlie Beach – please advise at time of booking, or not later than 60 days prior to your travel date.

DAY 2

Whitehaven Beach ‘Ocean Rafting’ Southern Lights Tour Today you’re off to Whitehaven Beach! 

Ride, beach, snorkel and bushwalk…all in one day!  Ocean Rafting’s Southern Lights tour offers the perfect Whitehaven Beach tour, visiting both ends of the world famous beach and enjoying approximately two hours relaxing at the southern end of the 7km stretch of Whitehaven Beach.

At the northern end of Whitehaven Beach, enjoy a guided bushwalk to spectacular Hill Inlet Lookout to view and capture photographs of the stunning swirling silica sands and aqua water.  Ocean Rafting is the only tour to have direct access to all areas of the stunning and iconic Hill Inlet beach to ensure you enjoy the most memorable experience of this special place. Snorkel for over an hour at Border Island, Dumbell Island, or one of our “secret” snorkel spots and enjoy the amazing hard and soft corals of the fringing reefs, as well as a huge range of marine life including colourful fish, turtles, clams and so much more, all of which call the inner coral reefs home.

Lunch day is a tropical buffet with a selection of rolls and wraps, a variety of salads, fresh fruits, and lamingtons with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options included.

Ocean Rafting has the fastest day boats in the Whitsundays, meaning it is not only an adventurous ride, but distances are covered in a shorter time, leaving more time for activities. The semi rigid inflatable vessels are super fast – it’s a fun ride, adventure and education amongst the natural beauty of the Whitsundays.

Around 4pm we are back at Daydream Island, time to refresh before dinner tonight

DAY 3

Daydream Island 

Enjoy breakfast at Graze. It’s a great day from some watersports – take out double kayaks or give the paddleboards a go. And for the more adventurous, the option to organise a guided jet ski island tour. You’ve got the day of resort relaxing ahead.  Enjoy a spa treatment (own expense) or kick back poolside.   There’s a trivia or bingo meetup this afternoon…the perfect end to a day on the island. As sunset approaches, you may like to slip down to the other side of the island, to Lover’s Cove – the island’s cool little popup afternoon bar for sunset on the deck.  Tonight, dinner together at one of the resorts restaurants.

DAY 4 

Daydream Island 

Enjoy breakfast at Graze.  A day of resort leisure or get busy with countless activities at the resort.  Tonight, meet at the bar at Infinity and enjoy the view over the water and resort pools before dinner.

DAY 5

Daydream Island – Transfer To Airport

Enjoy your farewell breakfast. Return launch transfers to Hamilton Island are included with your package.  Pick up your transfer voucher on your day of departure from the resort’s activities desk.

Following an extensive redevelopment Daydream Island resort now offers 277 refurbished modern rooms and suites with the choice of interconnecting rooms for families and special access rooms. The island has a revitalised pool landscape allowing you to swim and enjoy unparalleled views across the Whitsundays. The swimming hub is complemented by a poolside bar inclusive of a new burger concept.  

The Living Reef, also makes its return to the island in an even bigger and better capacity than before, with the free form coral lagoon wrapping 200m around the central building and holding over 1.5 million litres of water. Join the team of marine biologists and over 100 species of marine fish, rays, coral and invertebrates such as starfish, sea cucumbers and crabs.

The bathroom contains a shower over the bath.

Enjoy ocean views looking out to the Whitsunday Islands, from your large and fully-furnished outdoor terrace. Located in the exclusive Driftwood Wing. Facing directly out over the ocean towards the Whitsunday Islands these rooms are located on the eastern side of the Driftwood Wing on Levels G, 1 and 2.  At 36m2 the new light filled, contemporary room with relaxed tones is spacious and features sliding doors that open onto a large terrace with outdoor furniture. The bathroom contains a walk in shower.

Start and end destinations are the travel points to arrive to and depart from to join your holiday. There is the other option to fly into Proserpine Airport (PPP), also known as the Whitsunday Coast Airport. From there, it’s a scenic 40km drive to Port of Airlie, where you can then meet the 30-minute ferry transfer to Daydream. 

There is an additional cost to transfer by road between Proserpine Airport and Airlie Beach and this is by your own arrangement. Visit Whitsunday Transit website to book your airport transfer to/from Port of Airlie.

First Day Information
Arrival day commences with a pre dinner group meet up, followed by a group dinner

Final Day Information
There are no scheduled activities. After breakfast the trip comes to a close by the hotel check out time. An airport transfer is included to meet your departure flight from Hamilton Island, or return to Airlie Beach.

Hotel Check In/Out Times

Consider the hotel check in time on arrival and the hotel check out time on departure. If you arrive prior to the check in time, the hotel will store your luggage until the check in time and can also store your luggage until you are ready to depart for your onward journey.

Hotel check is from 2PM. Hotel check out is by 10AM.
Late check out can be requested but without payment cannot be guaranteed.

AIRPORT TRANSFERS FROM HAMILTON ISLAND
Launch transfers from Hamilton Island to Daydream Island are included.

The ferry ride to Daydream Island is a joy in itself. The schedule’s timed to coincide with arriving and departing flights, so it won’t be long until you’re enjoying panoramic views of the Whitsunday Islands, aboard Cruise Whitsundays’ modern vessels. 

If you’re flying into Hamilton Island Airport, you’ll find the Cruise Whitsundays check-in counter in the baggage collection area opposite the carousels. This is where you collect your transfer voucher that we have prearranged as part of your package.

The ferry departs from the ferry wharf by the airport.

Port of Airlie, Airlie Beach Transfers
There is the option to fly to The Whitsundays Coast Airport at Proserpine (PPP) then make your way by road to the Port of Airlie to meet the transfer from Airlie Beach to Daydream Island.

Ferry check in closes 30 minutes prior to your departure time. Please note luggage check-in closes 15 minutes before departure.

The transfer departs from our Maritime Terminal at 24 The Cove Road, Port of Airlie, Airlie Beach. The terminal features convenient airport style check-in and baggage conveyor belts, a large café with indoor and outdoor eating areas, a gift shop and comfortable seated waiting areas. Upon booking, you will be given a day cruise departure time. Check in is 30-40 minutes prior to your departure time.

We are able to provide flight advice and booking services for domestic airfares. A small service fee applies, due in advance. 

COVID-19 BORDER ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Government regulations for the destination may require pre travel registration for entry. This can be for state or international borders. Travellers must check these requirements prior to their departure from home. As a general guide, we recommend doing this at least 7 days prior to travel and again at 3 days prior to travel. It is also prudent to check on the day of travel. Regulations can change without notice. 

VISA/ENTRY INFORMATION 
Travellers arriving from outside Australia must check Australian government regulations for entering Australia. It is the responsibility of travellers to make sure they have the correct travel documentation to visit Australia. 

PASSPORTS
If travelling/joining from outside your home country, most countries require visitors to hold a valid passport with a minimum of 6 months validity from your return date to your home country. Ensure you have at least two blank pages in your passport.

Always check your destination country for their Customs policies for prohibited or restricted items. Products or legal medications in your country may not always be permitted in other countries.

TRIP AVAILABILITY
If this trip seems right for you then we encourage you to book early and secure your place with a deposit.  Tour space is limited. Also, many services on this tour must be booked well in advance. To ensure your place, please check trip availability at your earliest convenience

FELLOW TRAVELLERS
Our resort escape group sizes vary. The more the merrier for our resort escapes and the maximum group size of 38 people is indicative only.  For regular groups unaffected by COVID-19 events, it’s more common that the group size is between 24 – 38 people. There will be other guests at the resort, not part of our group. If there are COVID-19 travel bans the group size would be smaller.

You are welcome to join with a friend, but couples do not join this tour.

THE PACE  [1 out of 5]
The itinerary for this package is leisurely. There are many options to add in activities including sporting activities like reef days out, visits to other Islands or spa packages.  Any request for special room arrangements such as an accessible room cannot be guaranteed and is on a request basis only.
Some activities may not be suitable for travellers with mobility issues and/or low fitness levels.  If unsure about your suitability for the trip please contact us to seek further advice.  If you have below average fitness please check with our Travel Team about suitability for joining the excursions.

When you book your holiday with us you are required to answer some fitness questions. There may be requirements to have your doctor complete a Fit To Travel form based on your answers.

ABOUT THE MEALS 
It’s regular that our trips include welcome dinners and farewell dinners for our groups. In addition, we include other group dining experiences to ensure that everyone can enjoy the benefit of travelling and dining as a group.  There’s nothing better than to share a meal with new friends and discuss the day’s adventures.

ABOUT FREEDOM ESCAPES
On the first evening a local island host will meet the group fo pre dinner drinks but otherwise your stay on the island is unhosted.
Our ‘Freedom Escapes’ are a rejig of our long-standing resort packages. The point of difference to other resort trips is that
they’re not fully hosted. You’ll still have the laughs, the chill time and outings to enjoy together and of course, sharing meal time.
Freedom Escapes suit an independent solo traveller that values ‘me time’ and enjoys the perks of sharing dinner time, and
activities with others.

TRANSPORT
Arrival and departure transfers are arranged as part of your group package given that you are transferring between Hamilton Island and Daydream Island.
There is day out by boat Whitehaven beach and Hill Inlet.

You may like to purchase a prepaid sim card to take with you while travelling. Otherwise, ask your phone provider about International Roaming packages/offers for your mobile phone.  SIM cards or international roaming packages can be good options to keep in touch with friends and family back home.  Be sure the sim card you purchase will cover all the countries you are travelling to.
